Overview
Kaohsiung Medical University is a medical university with the richest history in Southern Taiwan. Originally the Department of Chemistry, the department was founded on August 1, 1990. Our aim is to foster professionals in the fields of pharmaceutical science and technology, environmental technology, trace analysis, materials chemistry, biochemistry, and applied chemistry. Our faculty consists of nine professors, six associate professors, and five assistant professors. Fundamental subjects in our department include organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, and pharmaceutical chemistry. In 2007, the department was divided into two groups, Medicinal and Applied Chemistry, to help develop more focused expertise in our students.
